I have taken a wild guess by identifying the site with Leighton Court, on A4103 Hereford to Malvern; although of course more likely to be in Sellack area.

If you read it as "form approaching Leighton's B. ruderalis" would it make you think of Rev W A Leighton?

That is the best mistake yet - everyone should see it! Making 2 species & 2 locations (one non-existent) out of one. But I can still picture a sandstone manor-house in parkland with its own farm at the lodge entrance.
