N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

There are many Hythes - none in H or B's usual areas; does any of them have a 'Newing Wood' [?] or similar - I haven't found one

There are now more than a dozen H or B sheets from Folkestone in 8/1873, so I think it would be safe to assume that this one is from Hythe, East Kent - next door? There is a Newingreen at
OS Grid reference TR1236
which could be relevant?

Looks very likely to me & I've edited in. I've since found H&B specimens from Hythe Colchester, but there's no wood or place of a remotely similar name in that area

The 'largely wooded' (Topographical Dictionary of England, ed. Lewis, 1848) parish of St Nicholas, Newington-next-Hythe is 2½ miles from Hythe, Kent.
