Nephrodium seems to have been for ferns what Hypnum was for mosses! (There are 1686 entries on IPNI!) B & H 1896 mentions it as an ?obsolete name for a variety of ferns, (many but not all of them Polystichums).

I suspect therefore that N. neopterum was an old name for Oak Fern?
