N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Can anyone recognize the collector for this, and is the date (1777) valid?

If the initials are W S, then it could be William Sole and the date would fit

William Sole (1741‑1802), a Bath surgeon and a distinguished botanist, born at Thetford in the Isle of Ely.

Thanks, I should have spotted that Graham refers to Sole on the det. slip.
