N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I cannot locate a Spring Boss Archill which Miss Bennet seems to state or Arclid as the museum would have it.

Arclid
OS Grid reference SJ788621

There is a nearby farm called Springbank but it does look like Spring Boss on the sheet, in the collector's writing! Smile

It's undoubtedly Arclid and I suggest that "Boss" is an error for Moss (perhaps Spring Boss = Spen Moss SJ821610 ?). Sarah's helpful map shows nearby Taxmere which solves these two http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/281741/?image and http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/300143/?image

As the label says, F S Bennett is Mrs not Miss & this is confirmed by a printed donation slip on one of her specimens. Searching "F S Bennett" reveals another 44 of her specimens, either coll or ex herb, and over a greater geographical range than Ches & Lancs.

The drop-down menu needs to be tidied up and Mrs Bennett's records consolidated.

I agree about Miss vs Mrs as I have seen quite a few with her Mrs label, and when she was a Miss she wouldn't have been Bennett, so I think 'Miss' on the menu isn't really correct. Apart from the handwriting, the printed sheets she uses are instantly recognisable, being so like the familiar Hayes/Bloxam; Cheshire 1870s is a give-away too, she has many from the 1840's usually Scotland which seem generally familiar Scottish collectors; and some from the 1890s which I haven't yet seen a collector's name on. Her sheets sometimes have her name as donor, but are usually anonymous; but I have never seen her named as the collector which I imagine she is for the 1870s Cheshire.
