I wonder if this could be Berriew in Monts
OS Grid reference SJ1800


(she was vague about the date so maybe also about the location?!)

Thanks for the suggestion. Denbighshire is North Wales, Montgomeryshire is mid Wales, so its rather a big jump.
If she knew the place as ? rocks, you might think she wouldn't get the county mixed up.

I don't think so - almost all her sheets are from the borders around Welshpool and Oswestry. Have edited Berriew in.

"Briew rocks Denbighshire" = Mynydd y Briw SJ1726 (near Llansilin).
