N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Collector inferred: A number of similar sheets may have all been collected by H Roberts?? (or M M Atwood?) eg see http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/297041/
however Attwood collected only in Cardiganshire between Jul & Sept 1836.

What about http://herbariaunited.org/sheets/BIRM/24370.jpg?
There are a few McCreight specimens from S. Hants on the database but only this one with a visible label. He could have collected it and comm Atwood?

good detecting! Macreight also collected Spartina maritima from Portsmouth http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/290445/ and all his specimens are from that part of the world as per Roberts, also comparable dates. On the other hand, unlike Macreight, every one of Roberts' specimens was comm M M Atwood (why?) so I still favour him; therefore no handwriting examples of his (though I suspect their handwritings were both much the usual of that era, hers more distinctive, and combined on some labels) Incidentally, when the menu has different versions of one name (eg initials vs full name) isn't it frustrating that they lead to different sets of specimens?

Update from David Price:
http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=TFsCAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=proceedings+botanical+society+london&source=bl&ots=oA5oLshwBE&sig=Y9pTadhH8_66fZLuoHmBSHV2MLU&hl=en&ei=wQFGTKPgDpXNjAe40dH0Bg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10&ved=0CEIQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q&f=false

is Procs Bot Soc London and on page 52 (29th November 1837) mention is made of "Spartina Alternifolia from Itchin Ferry, Southampton, presented by Dr Mcreight" which may cast some light on http://herbariaunited.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4381 which is not an Atwood plant (& prob not Roberts either).

(nb this H@H specimen is labelled Spartina stricta '....spiked Cord-grass' 8/1836 & doesn't specify the Ferry. Contrary to the other H@H specimens, I am accordingly deleting M M Atwood & Roberts from this entry). Need to also re-check Mcreight's handwriting etc.
