notes:	This is "aria sheet 18" and has the following notes attached - "Pyri pressed for Hedlund June 1 1910 1 & 2 shrubs above quarry, by the P. cordata. shrubs marked. Anglica from the original tree near the pear point 1,2,3 & 4 from the empty house on the W.side of the hill. Trees marked 1,2 & 3 from SE point of Little Doward. Trees not marked but - No 1 below rocks left hand No 2 & 3 above same rocks; between two sets of scrubby beeches. No 2 furthest on: No 3 nearer the Hutchinsia (only Nos 2 & 3 of last lot with flowers)"

I've edited the sheet and hope I've interpreted Ley's notes correctly.

The Little Doward is now owned by Woodland Trust which is undoing the hill's 20th century commercial coniferisation and restoring its traditional management as wood pasture.
