N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

There's another Ley specimen http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/300082/?image also Pig Hole where the cliff name is clearer and been interpreted as "Shorn Cliff" which puts it at ST 541 993... on the River Wye. Can't find any references to any places along that stretch of cliff called "Pig Hole" I suppose it couldn't be "in a big hole" could it??

Pighole is probably at ST562941 and could it read shore cliff?
Ley collected at Sedbury just about 1km away that day.

Difficult but interesting. Shorn Cliffs and Pighole Pill are equally near Sedbury. Maybe Trevor Evans knows the answer, or Mark Kitchen? Shorn Cliffs are just south of Tintern, on the opposite bank of the Wye, on Offa's Dyke path. Pighole Pill is on the Severn, north of Sedbury Cliffs near Cumberland Wood; there appears to be an interesting underground stream hence the hole(s)? Both limestone I assume. Shorn Cliffs better suits Nennius' famous 9th Century location for S domestica ('Marvels of Britain'), though both could. Maybe a clue will turn up on another sheet.
