N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Should I find the grid ref for Cowbridge and add it to site field or leave it blank as the exact location is not given? taxon name change from Mimulus guttatus to M. luteus - please explain more about how to record this.

Hi,
the way you have recorded this is fine. The taxon was listed as Mimulus gutatus as this is the currently accepted name for M. luteus, and is how the sheet is currently filed at the Aberystwyth herbarium.

Usually it's fine to leave the given taxon name unchanged - but you can give additional names by clicking the green-cross button next to the taxon name to add additional taxon name fields.

The system automatically recognized 'Cowbridge' and assigned it an approximate (~10 km precision) reference of SS97 (this probably appeared in grey in the grid-ref field when you documented the specimen). You might choose to fill in this field if there was a more precise reference written on the sheet or if you could supply a better (more accurate and precise) reference.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have further queries.

regards,

Tom.
