N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I can find no reference to a Flixton G Dowty?

Possibly not much use but the 1861 census has a Flixton Golding Dowty, born about 1813 in Lancashire, living in Somerset, and the "Revival" newspaper lists him as living in Bridgewater... He's still there in 1871 with a wife Elizabeth, born 1817 in Midsomer Norton, who is on her own by 1881 living in 6 Springfield Rd, BristolSt James ... Apart from that he's pretty illusive!

Thanks for that Mike, I have copied and pasted your comment in "comments" with a credit, and added him as a collector.
Was not even sure he was a person and Flixton sounded American!

Thanks for your comments on the Galium specimen I thought it was mullugo but was thrown by the R/H two.
Problem is if the sheets are incomplete in there name then who completes them? leaving them upsets my sense of things being right.

From (poor) memory early on I had one with a superseded name, so added the current one and changed the preference to that... and if a mix of specimens I think Tom advised to document each separately with whatever info was available/relevant for each.... suggest verify with Tom. Regards Mike
