I think it is an "R" for road? the writing is very "posh" H S Thompsons hand?

I can't decide on this one, there seem to be a few places called Woodbourne

I agree it looks like Woodbourne Rd. This anonymous collector with the distinctive handwriting collected in the West Midlands, and there are 3 in Birmingham.
