N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I couldn't locate Craigie Shore. However Babington has 2 other Irish specimens on H@H from this month; they are from Roundstone 2 days previously; one is the same species.

The original site for Erica mackaiana is Craiggamore aka Na Creaga Móra = (Lough) Nambrackmor, OS L7145. Perhaps this is a mistranscription by someone other than Babington who would have been familiar with the site since 1835.

Yes it does seem very likely. I see Stace 2 gives the distribution as 'very local in W Galway, W Mayo and W Donegal' - however CTW2 (1962) has only W Galway and W Donegal.

For this date Babington, who was staying at Roundstone, records in his Journal: "Went by car to Craigie More to look for Erica ciliaris, but without success. Found abundance of E. Mackaiana for more than a mile along the road". The writing doesn't look like Babington's, and employs the taxon name 'E. Mackaii'.
