N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

'The Old Passage'? - Ley's collections at this time are from Herefordshire

I resisted the temptation to go for the Glos site, since Ley's other collections of 7/10/1887 are so very distant - but I now see Ley collected specimens along the Severn to Chepstow (seemingly returning via the Wye) on 7/10/1889 eg http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/276186/ - so I'm revising the date on this sheet accordingly!

The labels on this sheet are not in Ley's h/w (nor is date Ley's style) but were written by B M Watkins (cf. http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/346345/), a Ross-on-Wye social worker and Ley's faithful botanical sidekick; but Ley was certainly at Braunton Burrows on 14/9/1882.

I think either Ley gave Watkins spmns for Watkins's own herbarium which in due course reverted to Ley; or Watkins was acting as Ley's amanuensis.
