A good question, to which I don't really have a satisfactory answer.

I suspect that at this point, anyone interested in the specimen would probably largely disregard Marshall's notes about its identification, so there would be limited value in transcribing them.

In general notes about locality and habitat are more useful.

Just use your judgement - I definitely don't think everything is worth transcribing.
