N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Labelling is confusing, with a mix of dates, two appearing to be 1922 which is after Ley's time; one specimen labelled caespitosus [=?]; collector uncertain but could be W P Hiern - compare (including very similar handwriting) with similar collection from 1900: http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/291532/ ; first date too early for Hiern, Hiern's dates 1839-1925; Hiern was associated with Ley; location vague; aquatic Ranunculus sheets of Hiern's in H@H from Warwickshire and Breinton Herefordshire - also Devon

I think that it is just that there are three specimens on the sheet - the top left one from Brick Kiln Pool, unidentified ("on the mud, left dry") and the other two the ones Ley was involved with, from April and July 1900, rec'd from Hiern in Nov 1900. The numbers (18 & 22) assoc with the [sub]spp may be catalogue numbers? Anyway, these taxa are no longer recognised although they might perhaps be hybrids?
