N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Foord : Arthur Humphreys Foord
1845-1934

Ford was born in Kent, but spent some of his working life in Canada
Quote "Foord worked for the Geological Survey of Canada from 1872 to 1883 as a scientific illustrator, and later garnered fame in Europe for his work on Carboniferous cephalopods in Ireland"
http://www.miguasha.ca/mig-en/the_first_discoveries.php.

He worked on the Catalogue of fossil cephalopods in the British Museum.

In 1891, he accepted a post in Dublin as Librarian and Editor of the Royal Dublin Society. http://www.botanicgardens.ie/herb/books/irishnaturalists.htm
When he retired, he moved to Sussex. He held an honorary doctorate, awarded by Munich University.

Thanks, but how do you know it was him, do you recognise the hand writing or anything, there are only initials on the sheet and it is from Scotland?
