There have been several Mentha sheets recently from the herbarium of EH Metcalf (-c.1977):
Specimens generally undated. No collector specifically named.
Handwritten labels: "Ex E. H. Metcalf's Herb."
Printed labels:
"Presented to the Herbarium, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
by the executors of the late E.H.Metcalf, October 1977."
Mentha seem to be numbered by species, e.g.: spon.37 aqu.22

Not to be confused with the much earlier Elizabeth Metcalfe (floreat: 1829-1840), with sheets thus: Collected: Elizabeth Metcalfe, Comm: Dr C R Metcalfe.

Causing further confusion is Charles Russell Metcalfe (1904-1991). Plant anatomist, traveler, botanical explorer, plant collector, author. Keeper of the Jodrell Laboratory, Kew.
