N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

#2 There was a slew of Fraz[s]ers on Jersey that month (July 1876) and many of the sheets have Joannis Fraser's label. Has any decision been reached about the various spellings etc and can we assume that this Frazer is the same man?

There are two collectors named thus.

John Fraser (1854 - 1935) has on H@H a few Salices collected in Surrey in the 1920s & '30s.

Dr John Fraser (1820 - 1909) who also collected Salices. He has a few confusing aliases (Johannes, Johannis - latinised forms of his name copied from his herbarium labels) and it would be helpful if these were lumped under "Dr John Fraser". I have reassigned to this collector a few specimens wrongly attributed to his namesake. An excellent account of Dr John Fraser by Richard Middleton is to be found at http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:ceOcXbqqzYsJ:www.hull.ac.uk/geog/herbarium/fraser.htm+British+Botanical+Competition+1864&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk
