The documenter of this sheet had the place name of Mentone which I cannot find, there is a Menton without the "e" in France but I think this is likely Herefordshire there is only one record for two days each side of this one, could it possible be Breinton

Ingenious but parochial!

Mentone was a favourite destination of the English (cf Promenade des Anglais at Menton) who, as so often, preferred to spell french place-names their own way.
