species indeterminate. site - if Kingsand Cornwall, then although only just outside Devon, it is unusual for Ley to inaccurate re County, and he knew the Rame area well.

Kingsand was part of Devon until 1844: Ley was seemingly harking back to a pre-Watsonian view of his ancestral homeland - the Rame peninsula.
