N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Although I have come across the memorable Hurtmoor Bottom before, I can't now locate it. 2nd site could perhaps equally be N Tamerton, E Cornwall, or Tamerton Folliot, S Devon - Edwards evidently collected from both vc's

Hurtmore Bottom: see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/171802

Tamerton Foliot is north of Plymouth; Palmer gathered another Viola in 1834, at Bickleigh which is nearby.

Is the handwriting of the Tamerton label that of Joseph Woods?

Although I usually think of Woods' handwriting as slightly more 'curly', a quite 'angular' inscription quite possibly his, is on: http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/324738/ (though like this sheet, date isn't written in his usual y-m-d style, so doubtful). The handwriting I normally recognise as his, is on:

Very interesting.
