Townsend and I of W date have come up before
Geoff Toone wrote "Townsend is known to have made his longest visit to Wight in 1879 and was probably assisted by A.G.More and Fred Stratton. More was studying the Batrachian Ranunculaceae and differed with Bromfield's opinions on spp separations (and turned out to be largely justified). He would have sought Townsend's opinion as the taxonomy was in flux at the time."
