N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I wonder if this really is an Isle of Wight specimen. The locality at Newtown is not a familiar one, and the label says Newtown, Essex. I'm not sure that the collector made IOW collections. However, the taxon could possibly have been found in or close to a garden in Newport, IOW.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for spotting this mistake, I've updated the record to an Essex location based on the label information . If you spot errors like this then please feel free to edit the record yourself and make whatever changes are needed as that's the quickest way to get things corrected and makes better use of your expertise.

regards,

Tom
