notes:Specimens are diminutive. Of it I could send you young plants to grow - if worth while. It's just the hairy-podded Mel. officinalis of Willd[enow].

There are several Hailes near Edinburgh, including Wester Hailes. Does the date of collection help to localise this specimen more precisely?

"Hailes Quarry" NT2070, a 20th century 'landfill site', now a public recreation ground.
