N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I have seen several of these 'D' dates now & reckon D3 = 3rd. The date I think is 1872, though does look like 92. The site seems to be Ascot? Worth checking where else he collected on that date(s)

Yes, D is for dies (pronounced, of course, dye-ease), so it's the 3rd of April (Aprilis).

The 'fossil record' doesn't help elucidate the year, though.

Have checked where Townsend and Hume were botanising April 1872 and 1892 but found no entries. Puzzled as to why location may be Ascot?
