This post was made automatically in response to a request for comment on the documentation form. There is more general info about such requests here.
Documented by CLL on 20th February 2008. Edit historyN.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names. Log-in to edit this sheet.

- Any thoughts on where Heene might be? or perhaps it is Herne.

From the style of the label the collector is Henry Hasselfoot Haines. Altough he collected from quite a wide area, he seems to concentrate on Sussex.
There's a Heene near Worthing which I've added as the locality, but please change it if you disagree as I'm just guessing. |

I sent samples of the writing to R Gornall at Leicester - he was of the opinion (having checked in the herbaria) that it was not Haines.

P.S.
Thanks v. much for the biography of Bailey, hopefully I've got the links recreated correctly, but the formatting may still need some tweaking.

If you trawl through old emails, you should find a copy of R Gornalls' reply, which I forwarded on to you (about December, I think).
