N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Google suggests Goyt Valley with its Shining Tor. Derbyshire/Cheshire very much Barrow's territory.

What about the small (un-named on the OS map) valley (SK3352) below Shining Cliff near Alderwasley?

Unless this specimen is only half of a rather tall plant, it doesn't look typical of E. helleborine - the leaves are narrower and appear to be 2-ranked.

I suppose it is all a bit conjectural, but Barrow was in Buxton the previous week - only about 8km from Shining Tor and the Goyt valley. The Alderwasley site is a bit south of his usual patch.
Which Epipactis were you thinking of? Both sites' features are gritstone and E atropurpurea is not recorded in either of the hectads above and neither are E phyllanthes or E. palustris.......so perhaps just the top of a very tall E. helleborine as you suggest.
