Image:Wahlenbergia hederacea herbarium specimen from Moccas, Depple Wood, VC36 Herefordshire in 1880 by Rev. Augustin Ley.
fruits/flowers:mature flowers
notes:The label gives the collectors as "Sir GC" and AY. The search engine suggests Sir George Chester but as he was not born until 1886 it cannot be him. Perhaps his father?

Inferred details are marked.

Documented by john hughes on 7th April 2009.

N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

See http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/307364/ on which Ley gives the name of Sir George Cornewall, whose family came from Moccas Court! see http://www.archiveswales.org.uk/anw/get_collection.php?inst_id=1&coll_id=20195&expand= I can't find the right descendant though.

from Woolhope Club list of members 1889 - Cornewall, Rev. Sir G. H., Bart., M.A., Moccas Court, Hereford.

Like the Revv Messrs Witts of Upper Slaughter, Cornewall was a Squarson - patron and incumbent of his living. The thirsty botanist in Clodock, Herefs, vc36, can still visit the Cornewall Arms.
