N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

A
mystery why this had been documented as C.nigra. It is C.pulicaris as it says on
the sheet.

Hi John,

The sheet was probably misfiled in the herbarium, or possibly I may have made a mistake when adding taxon names to the batch of sheets. Because names are assigned to folders rather than to sheets, specimens are generally only checked individually when documented. Volunteers who document sheets are discouraged from renaming sheets unless they judge themselves to have sufficient botanical competence to do so reliably (and even, as here, when someone expert did the original documentation, when working through a large batch its easy to miss something).

Mostly this works fairly well, but there's obviously potential for occasional errors to slip through. Thank you for correcting this sheet.

regards,

Tom
