N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I don't know if anyone will know the initials of
some of the determiners of this specimen. Also, it is not clear to me what the
reference to F Townsend and Shedfield is. It is not clear that it refers to a
collector and locality

"A Ventus" is A Newton!

Several weeks ago in response to a message I gave the link to D E Allen's paper 'Rubus in Surrey' (2ed 2003) which contains lists of Rubus specialists and notable Collectors.

"GGS" is a mis-reading of EGG (E G Gilbert).

Shedfield Lodge (Wickham hampshire) was where Townsend (author of 'flora of Hampshire') lived when first married before moving to Honnington Hall, Warwickshire
