N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

illegible, and unclear which specimen is referred to; label at top left also has an 'x'

"1X57" is a partly obliterated 1857.

Doesn't this label (bottom right) marked "X" cross-reference to CCB's label, "near Cambridge" (top left).

The letters "Engel--" read 'Engelmann', the authority for the trinomial Cuscuta epithymum grandiflora. It may be no more than a coincidence that in 1857 the German-American botanist George Engelmann was in England visiting J D Hooker.

Thanks - and I see therefore the bar-code must refer to the Island of Aran specimen
