N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Any interpretations of bottom label? It is in Beeby's handwriting. Seems to be no connection with http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/329502/ collected same date

Much to my surprise I found in BSBI News April 2010 no. 115 p. 72 in an article about alien willowherbs:

"e.g. E. tournefortii, Santa Teresa Gallura, par Tempio (Marais de Boncamino), 4th July and 7th August 1881, ex. Charles Bailey"

Santa Teresa Gallura is a town on the N tip of Sardinia. South of it is Buoncammino. In French 'marais' is means marsh, and 'Tempio' is Italian for temple. Perhaps there's a temple by a marsh on the flat ground near Buoncammino. Same place is referred to in a section on Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani in a paper on Sardinian flora HERE [pdf] so THE place to go on your next cruise round the Med!

Thanks - what a long shot! I've found your location on my old road-map of Italy, had previously only thought of France!
