I'm pretty new to this herbaria business. When it comes to recording what the specimen is, I'm confident I can see if there are no flowers but how do you tell the difference between a bud, immature flower, mature flower, seed or fruit ? Could you mistake a bud for a seed, a small mature flower for an immature flower ? Tips and advice please ? |

Easier for some species (and some photos) than others. Sometimes for instance an early-stage seed-pod has faded petals hanging on. However the rule of entering the most 'senior state' present, does help. If undecided, my suggestion is leave blank; and there must be so many ambiguous entries now on H@H that I would not spend overly long on any single one |
