N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Should taxon be 'Galium palustre var. witheringii' as per label?

I'm often unsure how old varietal names should be treated by herb@home. Many of the names are no-longer recognized and so including them may just add spurious complexity to the records. However a good case could be made for including all the names, particularly with a collection such as SLBI's where many of the varieties are still filed separately.

I've edited the sheet to add 'var witheringii' as the original name assigned by the collector. If you want to include varietal names than that is probably the 'correct' way to do it.

If (as is likely) you find cases where a significant varietal name has been incorrectly ignored, then please do highlight the problem.

regards,

Tom
