N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Handwriting looks like W L Notcutt.

I think the handwriting is Townsend's; see http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/345877/ . The example given at http://herbariaunited.org/collector/14556/ does not look like his.

The handwriting is not Notcutt's and I do not think he collected this specimen. For Notcutt's h/w see http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/239459/ and http://www3.hants.gov.uk/biology/collectors/bromfield-herbarium/bromfield-herbarium-contributers.htm

The chronological record shows that Townsend collected in IoW in 7/1844 and Notcutt in 8/1844 (which has supportive if not conclusive value).

I think the collector was Townsend.

Thanks for spotting the taxon name error - it was mistake made when I uploaded the folder - I've corrected the entries.
