Searching for Beeby 5/8/1871 finds a specimen (330187) from Reigate Hill. It is often difficult to tell Beeby's 7s and 9s apart, so I tried 5/8/1891 only to discover a sheet I had annotated (349882) in which Beeby collected at Coombe Lane Croydon. The writing of the two dates was identical! There was also another sheet (263865) dated 31/7/1891 to 5/8/1891 with both a handwritten and a printed label but showing Beeby collecting in Shetland. I have re-dated 349882 to 5/8/1871.

All this suggests that the Shirley in question here is the one near Croydon TQ36 VC17, Surrey.
