The only hadwriting I have seen like this is associated with specimens collected by Rev Douglas Montague Heath, although he usually had a frame drawn round them. Even so this would not help identify which Coombe Wood was intended.

There are at least four ambiguous Coombe Wood specimens from that date.

All the D M Heath specimens have been from BIRM (and consistently have framed labelling), so I'm doubtful that it's him.
