notes: | 'The spur is quite straight. so it is probably calcarea. I have doubts the specific rank or uniformity of that plant - E S Marshall'. 'Mrs Gregory says that true calcarea has an imperceptibly spur! -the spurs of this specimen are anything but that! C.E.Salmon'. 'This seems to me the same as the Box hill plant referred [?] to calcarea by Mr Beeby. I agree with Mr Marshalls remarks as to it's specific rank and uniformity on Box hill I have noticed short straight spurs and long curved one on the same plant! H.W.T.' 'Surely only small hirta? A Bennett'. |
