Biography
Son of Thomas Henry Horrell a Wesleyan minister who had several appointments and took his family around the country, to places including Northamptonshire, Shetland, Yorkshire, and Derbyshire, before Ernest moved to London.
Born at Raunds, Northamptonshire in 1870.
1888 Imprisoned for one month for stealing books from Yorkshire College.
1891 Assistant schoolmaster in Doncaster.
1898-1904 Member of the Moss Exchange Club, while living in London.
1901 Lecturer in botany.
1904 Married Ada Bruce Wilson in Chelmsford.
1912 Living in Scarborough, Yorkshire, and Secretary of the Scarborough Field Naturalists' Club, of which he was President in 1914.
Died at Nottingham 1944.
His herbarium is at Leeds Museum.
