Biography
John Bishop Duncan 1869-1953
Treasurer and, later, president, of the British Bryological Society. He collected plants in England, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and Norway. His bryophyte herbarium is at the Hancock Museum (Newcastle).
Born Edinburgh 1869.
1871 family moved to Moffat.
Became a bank clerk in Moffat, Kelso, Stratford upon Avon, And Birmingham
(1891) then Bewdley by 1901 where in 1912 he was living in Park Lane.
Retired 1923 and moved to Berwick upon Tweed.
Died in Berwick upon Tweed, 4 January 1953.
