John Ewbank Leefe

Rev. John Ewbank Leefe B.A,,M.A., FLS (1813-1889)
Born in Richmond, educated Cambridge, then Vicar at Audley End (1841). He moved back to Richmond, and from there on to Cresswell, Northumberland; where he stayed for a long time 1849 - 87.
FLS and a member of the Tyneside Naturalists Field Club - Vice President and then President 73/ 74. He was an expert on Salix, most of his letters and plants at Kew. Also recorded rainfall, temp data up to 1888. Died at Redcar.
