Biography
Visited St Kilda 3rd-25th July, 1927. Specimens were determined by WB Turrill, who presented them to Kew. Details were reported by Johm Matheson in The Scottish Geographical Magazine, 1928, volume 44, 65-90.
Visited Foula in 1928; his extensive collections and notes are preserved at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and formed the basis of the paper by WB Turrill (The Flora of Foula. Report of the Botanical Society & Exchange Club of the British Isles, 1928, 838-850) which lists 137 species of vascular plants.
