Otto Christian Lauritz Gelert (9/11/1862-20/3/1899)

Biography

Born 9th November 1862, in Nybøl in Sundeved,Denmark. Brother of John Sophus Gelert.
Died 20th March 1899, in Copenhagen.
Danish botanist, and professional pharmacist and, later, a chemist at sugar refineries (Tangermünde on the Elbe, then Lyngby Sugar Factory).
Due to failing health, he had to give up this business and worked in his final years at the Botanical Museum in Copenhagen.
