Although Roose is the wrong side of Morecambe Bay, I think this must be meant. There is a sheet from VC69, documented by MANCH, by this collector

Lancashire used to include, in its Lonesdale Hundred, the area around Furness and Cartmell up until 1889 so Roose was in Lancashire 25 years earlier....
