- the writing on the Castle Howard specimen is Ibbotson's he collected particularly from there. I cannot interpret the middle label which ! (Mr / Mt John Alp???) I believe this is in the handwriting of C O Groom (alias Prince of M&M - see red stamp, also typical blue paper of Groom's Lewes specimens). I can't say about the writing on the Perthshire (labelled '2') & Carshalton labels;
