N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

There are lots of records from this area and a little further west for 1886-7 but are they collected by HHH or just ex herbarium?

There's been quite a bit of discussion about this. Currently the conclusion is that they should best be described as ex herb.

The hand writing sometimes comes with an annotation in pencil - H H Haines. The specimens range over a period of 40+ years, and includes periods when Haines was Conservator of Forests in India. However, there were various members of the Haines family who collected plants and insects, including his brother and his nieces. At the moment, it is probably best to ascribe such sheets as ex herb Haines - as they may be associated with the family - though the actual provenance remains a bit of a mystery.

I'll do a bulk edit at some point to change the sheets from col. to ex herb.
