mainly with collectors

how are we supposed to handle multiple collectors...

e.g.
E & H Clarke (not a real example )

should we document as E & H Clarke (not sure if form allows me to enter the & (using Alpha))

or 2 entries for
E Clarke
H Clarke

the collector list appears a bit strange with the help instructions saying/ hinting record separatly but the list containing several entries containg groups of people.

Hi lowfatspread,
thanks for asking about this.

Please split these as two entries, as this which will allow more reliable and straightforward searches for particular collectors.

The name combinations on the collector list have mostly come from data imported from other sources and I am trying to get rid of them.

There is currently a problem with determiner names as only one name field is available to record this, requiring suboptimal entries if there are multiple determiners. I am currently working on rectifying this - for a long time now the database has supported multiple det names, but the doc form user interface has not been updated yet. Once this is done I'll aim to finally purge all joint names from the suggestions list.

regards,

Tom.
