A very well known botanist. I have two records of hers from the Isle of Wight :-
Viola tricolor subsp. tricolor Wild Pansy Bembridge SZ6488 vc10 present 31 Dec 1929 Palmer, Miss Extracted from publication May be the same record as for Miss C. Palmer [Townsend 1904]. Rec., as Viola tricolor var. vectensis F. N. Williams o รท
Extracted from publication
Rayner, Mr J.F., 1929, Supplement to Flora of Hampshire incl., the Isle of Wight
Viola tricolor subsp. tricolor Wild Pansy Bembridge, Steyn wood, Field outside SZ6487 vc10 present 31 Dec 1904 Palmer, Miss C. Extracted from publication May be the same record as for Miss Palmer [Rayner, 1929]. Rec., as V. tricolor var. banatica, Kit.
Extracted from publication
Townsend, Mr F., 1904, Flora of Hampshire incl., the Isle of Wight, 2nd Edn.
The grid refs are literals from her location names and possibly the same site. There are other records from her for that period, if memory serves from around the Undercliff of the southern downs. |
