User comments about this sheet - xmhcman wrote
- Besides the specimen from collector 'Franklin' at Dulwich College in 1953, there is a discussion as to the meaning of 'Cleat', including a press cutting from 'M J Teesdale, St Margaret's, Thurlow Park Road, Dulwich' from 27th Oct or Dec 1896, plus comments in longhand that look more like the handwriting of the Dulwich collectors of the 1800s. Some of the specimens may, therefore, be earlier.

Interesting sheet and messages:
- indicates M J Teesdale as the author of the etymological labels on the Dulwich sheets;
- also presumably of this label which has the 'T' (of Tussilago) which can be confused with 'P' - so that the collector 'MJP' may be M J Teesdale, or may not - compare the initials on http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/346897/ for slight differences;
- sorry about the Nellie Teesdale link she has 2 H@H sheets eg http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/326550/ and is one of six Teesdales on H@H;
- 'JHP' may be J H Teesdale, see initials on http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/327550/ |
